Why is there a Waitlist?
Manara was founded to help the top software engineers in the MENA region achieve world-class careers through community, education, and connections to international startups & tech companies.
In our experience placing ~140 engineers in world-class jobs we have learned the following:
- Top global, regional & local companies do not only hire for technical skills; but focus heavily on soft skills, English skills & profiles with diverse experiences (work experience, competitive programming, other achievements)
- When Manara reviews the profiles that apply in the wait list, the aim is to find the relevant profiles that can take on our “Flexible Program” and not just complete it, but also find matching opportunities in the market
- Manara focuses on admitting software engineers who we know we can help get the skills they need to land the job of their dreams! The waitlist helps us ensure that only qualified applicants are admitted. This helps you be sure that your acceptance to our program means we believe in you!
What is the process once I’m in the waitlist?
- By signing up to Manara you get access to limited features in our product while your application gets reviewed. With this limited access you can still start improving your skills with our skills assessments and begin to participate in the Manara community.
- In the meanwhile:
- Manara researches industry hiring trends:
- Takes note of the trending roles needed in the market
- Defines areas of content that need to be prioritized
- Reviews with its hiring partners:
- What roles are they hiring for
- What skills are most required from them
- Which profiles are they prioritizing for hiring
- Manara then reviews the applications on the waitlist with the aim of accepting:
- Complete applications (profile & English assessment)
- Stand out profiles in all experience levels (Your profile is compared to profiles with the same years of experience)
- Profiles that are proactively resilient to get the best scores on the skills assessments
- Manara then accepts a new batch of users every week, sending those users onboarding emails and granting them access to the learning path that includes both technical & behavioral courses
- Users can then start their self-paced learning on Manara Flexible and, as users, gain credit from finishing courses which they can use to get access to:
- Peer-to-peer interviews
- AI-enabled interviews
- Expert interviews
- Resume reviews
- Levels, Badges & Certificates

How long does this process take?
We admit new applicants every week! Who gets chosen is highly affected by various factors such as:
- Number of applications on the wait list
- Industry hiring patterns at the time
